Dr. Mina Abdelmalek, DVM

Dr. Mina is the proud owner and lead veterinarian at Five Mile Animal Hospital, a warm and caring place dedicated to helping pets live healthy, happy lives.

Originally from Egypt, Dr. Mina’s journey began with a deep love for animals and a strong desire to make a difference. After earning his veterinary degree in 2008, he first worked in the pharmaceutical field before realizing his true passion was hands-on animal care. He later moved to the United States to pursue his dream of working with small animals.

After becoming licensed in the U.S. in 2017, Dr. Mina spent more than five years with two of the country’s leading veterinary organizations — Banfield and VCA — where he gained extensive experience in medicine and surgery while caring for thousands of pets.

In July 2023, Dr. Mina took the next step in his career by acquiring Five Mile Animal Hospital. Since then, he has focused on building a hospital where compassion and high-quality medicine come together. His areas of expertise include preventive care, urgent cases, and surgery, and he approaches every patient with empathy and attention to detail.

Outside of work, Dr. Mina enjoys spending time with his wife, three kids, and their dog, whether it’s exploring the outdoors, relaxing at home, or simply enjoying each other’s company. He’s also active in his community and passionate about promoting animal welfare and building lasting relationships with pet families.
